So I'm a little stressed lately. It's coming to the end of the quarter and between concerts and grades and callings I'm a little overwhelmed. When I'm not working on something for either of the two schools I work at, I'm teaching voice lessons, piano lessons, working with my Spanish choir, making visits to girls in my RS, or part of some sort of church project (talent show, summit video, etc). To top it all off I just agreed to be one of the conductors for a Young Adult Christmas Choir. Am I crazy? Probably. But I'm actually really excited about this one. It'll be fun to conduct a choir of people above the age of 16. I'm pretty excited so we'll see how it goes.

Quotes of the week from my students-

"How do you spell eight?" -Freshman in high school

"I'm pretty sure Ms. Hatch is the most bodacious person in the room." -7th grade boy

"Why did you cut your hair? You would look so much prettier with it long." -7th grade girl

"You know what Ms. Hatch, I was really depressed today. But then I came to choir and it cheered me up. Choir always cheers me up." -7th grade boy

And that last comment friends is why I do what I do, despite blood, sweat, and tears.

If I can stop one heart from breaking, I shall not live in vain: If I can ease one life the aching, or cool one pain, or help one fainting robin unto his nest again, I shall not live in vain.

-Emily Dickinson

Now I just have to keep reminding myself of this on those tough days when I begin to pull out my hair and eat my laptop. :)
